Hear from your peers the ideas, trends and developments that will set you, your employee base and your organization up for success.
Conversations around belonging in the workplace have taken center stage as many companies implement return-to-office plans and employees transition to in-person interactions over the virtual normal of the past two years. With the topic of talent retention and the Great Resignation in the background, job seekers and employers should be reevaluating what an inclusive, kind workplace means to them and how they can be a part of positive change to support employee mental health at work. Armed with findings from a joint survey of 1,200 young workers ages 18-29 exploring kindness and mental health priorities in the workplace, presenters will share data points including:
- 77% of respondents were more likely to apply for a job posting that listed ‘kindness’ as an important value of the company.
- 89% of young workers see mental health and kindness as high priorities in the workplace.
- 32% of employees work in environments where paid personal or mental health days are provided.
- Only half of the young people surveyed reported having health insurance that covers mental health care.
Employees at all incomes are experiencing financial stress in this current economic downturn. From inflation to gas prices, job insecurity to the chaotic home buying market, how can employers meet each person where they are and support their holistic financial wellbeing? In this session, we’ll explore:
- New data on workplace financial stress and program engagement
- Key workplace trends in financial wellbeing during economic downturns
- Real member stories from employees and their outcomes
- Strategies to turn financial wellbeing insights into action
It’s no secret that the stigma associated with mental illness prevents many from seeking help for widely treatable conditions. Starting and sustaining those important conversations about mental health issues lets employees who are struggling know they are not alone and that there are resources available to help. Learn how Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems launched a positive mental health campaign that successfully got employees talking about issues typically not discussed in the workplace to slash the stigma. This session will outline how to:
- Get started with two simple, but proven objectives
- Move your audience with powerful employee stories
- Leverage national campaigns, internal partnerships and communications channels to extend your reach
- Measure your impact with “meaningful” metrics
Explore ways to incorporate health and wellbeing into all areas of your organization’s culture and increase employee participation. Hear how one company encourages wellbeing throughout its global workforce by responding to employee engagement survey feedback, and through live weekly webinars and its volunteer network of health and wellbeing champions. You’ll learn:
- How to bring this framework to your own wellbeing programs
- Ways to build a culture of health into your company’s long-term strategies with leadership commitment
- The importance of partnering with other areas of your company: HR/People team, Benefits, Security
- How to increase employee engagement scores and utilize critical benefits such as EAP
- Basing program design on ISO 45003, GRI Culture of Health and similar systems
Well-being is more than a program or a benefits package, it's a renewed approach to the way people work. One of the key enablers of this strategy at Deloitte is a one-of-its-kind program called The Well-being Wizards: a network of empowered and passionate employees at all levels that function as a human well-being platform. In this session, you will hear about how the program and lessons we can learn from it about well-being at the individual, team and organizational levels. Plus:
- Empowering individuals to make change in their sphere of influence
- Creating opportunities for employees to bring their passions to work
- What it takes to start organizational programs; permission, support, resources
- Bottom-up culture change strategies
- Wellbeing at the individual, team, and organization level
Does your business invest in wellness resources that go unused by employees because they are time-crunched, unsure of what’s available or worried about stigma? An investment in technology and marketing may increase participation in a wide range of programs and allow you to recognize what programs may be underutilized. In this session, you’ll discover:
- How to internally market your wellbeing initiatives and opportunities for employees
- Measuring the effectiveness and use of your programs to identify what employees are using and what they aren’t
- The effectiveness of employee apps, allowing them to schedule use in their time
We’ll gather in small groups to brainstorm a hot topic with your table mates and share best practices and ways to rise to the challenge. One designated representative from each table will share the findings around your topic with the audience. Topics will include employee burnout, change communications, campaigns and contests, remote work, budgeting and measurement.

Employee benefits have shifted in parallel with transformations in how employees work and live – evolving from a once-linear focus on employees’ physical health, to more holistic coverage that accommodates mental, financial and even social well-being. The world has changed, work has changed and we have changed, but our relationship with self-care has stayed the same. We still think of self-care as something we do after work to recover instead of recognizing self-care as the foundation for how we work better, together. In this session, we will unleash the power of pausing to protect and harness our most important resource, our human advantage.
