It’s tough to find a silver lining amid COVID-19’s wave of destruction, but the pandemic is forcing wellness and HR pros to rethink and refine what works in this unique era.

Recent CDC data, which found that 41% of respondents were currently experiencing “at least one adverse mental or behavioral health condition,” stresses the ever-increasing need to support employees’ mental well-being. That’s not to discount the vital importance of addressing physical and spiritual wellness during these stressful times, but we are on the brink of a “mental health disaster.”

Regardless of your key constituents, Amy Athey, chief wellness officer at The University of Arizona and co-founder of life-coaching app Confidently, foresees a need to prioritize mental health support, access and care through digital means in the coming months.
